Madagascar Famine Update

Earlier this year generous supporters responded to cbm’s Madgascar Famine appeal. Helping vulnerable children and families suffering from the ongoing effects of three years of consecutive drought – restricting food production, and socio-economic effects of COVID-19.

cbm’s response targeted 3,000 households most at risk, including people with disabilities – providing vital food, clean water, access to ongoing medical care, and trauma counselling for children. The cbm team on the front lines ensured aid was received where needed most.

While families waited for their assistance, the cbm team also took the opportunity to raise awareness of the rights of people with disabilities, and the importance of disability inclusion. People were encouraged to connect with local “Organisations of Persons with Disabilities”.

Thank you for your loving kindness and compassion for vulnerable children and adults with disabilities living in the world’s poorest places.
