Judi, from cbm’s Finance team, shares the joy of cbm’s mission in Waipu & Ruakaka:
As a member of the finance team, I don’t often have the opportunity to share about cbm’s mission in a church setting – so what a joy it was to speak with the Waipu and Ruakaka Presbyterian congregations last month!
My parents-in-law are part of this wonderful church community, so my family and I love visiting often and have come to know many of the warm-hearted folk there – always living up to the town’s welcome, “Ceud Mìle Fàilte” (“a hundred thousand welcomes”).
It was such a blessing to meet generous people who have faithfully supported cbm for many years both as individuals, and also through the church’s giving. I was reminded how meaningful it is for supporters like you to see first-hand what has been achieved through partnering with cbm.
Our focus that morning was on cbm’s mission in Papua New Guinea — perfectly timed, as the congregation was able to pray for cbm just days before a new Vision Centre opened in Rabaul. This centre will mean that many more people with disabilities living in poverty can now access life-changing services.
No words can tell these stories quite like those who have lived them. It was powerful to share young Patrick’s story on video as part of this special time together.
I’m not a trained speaker, but it truly is a privilege to share the latest news of what cbm is achieving through your generosity. If you’d like to share about cbm in your own church or community, please get in touch with Elizabeth elizabeth@cbmnz.org.nz – she can provide you with inspiring materials, photos, and videos to help tell these life-changing stories.
Blessings, Judi.
