Advocacy – New Zealand

SKU: N/A Category:

Description

Advocacy forms an important part of cbm’s mission to improve the lives of persons with disabilities living in the poorest countries. The United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD), Agenda 2030 and Sendai Disaster Risk Reduction Framework have prepared fertile ground for reaching this goal.

THE NEED

To address the three dimensions of sustainable development (economic, social and environmental), Agenda 2030 guides development for the next 15 years. Although disability is referenced eleven times out of the 17 goals and targets, cbm advocates for inclusion of persons with disabilities in all 17 goals.

HOW WE ARE HELPING

cbm communicates evidence from our projects to mainstream inclusive development organisations within New Zealand – ensuring that even more people with disabilities living in poverty around the world will benefit!
