Giving Day

Thank you for helping people with disabilities in the world’s poorest places. Each and every gift you send is truly appreciated!

Giving Day

Description

To our wonderful supporters — thank you for joining us on Giving Day.

Because of your generosity, children and adults in Papua New Guinea will receive the miracle of sight and a chance to break the cycle of poverty and disability. Every gift was multiplied five times by the Government’s International Development Cooperation Programme, turning $35 into $175 of impact.

Missed Giving Day? It’s not too late.

If you weren’t able to join us on Giving Day, you can still transform lives like Patrick’s.

A Miracle of Sight is a $35 gift that provides the 12-minute cataract operation needed to restore sight. With Government match, that $35 gift becomes $175 of impact.

  • $35 = 1 Miracle of Sight

  • $35/month = Eye Champion (ongoing impact)

  • $420 = restores sight for 12 people, multiplied five times with Government match

Your support also helps train new ophthalmologists, reach remote communities through cbm-funded clinics, and provide inclusive education for children who are blind or have low vision.

Patrick’s story

Help give the miracle of sight to adults and children with blinding cataracts, like 13-year-old Patrick, living in remote communities in Papua New Guinea.

Patrick is 13 and lives in a remote Highlands community. He was born with congenital bilateral cataracts. His family could never afford the surgery he urgently needed.

Without help, Patrick’s future was slipping away. He would struggle to read at school, miss out on an education, and lose sight of the dream he holds so dearly:

“I want to become a Pastor. I love the work they do.”

How could Patrick minister across the Highlands’ muddy, rutted tracks if he could not see?

Thanks to generous supporters, Patrick has hope for the future — sight-saving surgery and the chance to learn, grow, and pursue his calling.

A call to widen our hearts

The need to reduce avoidable blindness in PNG is urgent. Together we can respond to God’s call in Isaiah 54:2:

“Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes.”

Please prayerfully consider giving today — and help more adults and children, like Patrick, receive the miracle of sight.
